Vitamin Deficiency In Fish
Us Humans are not the only ones that can suffer from a lack of the right vitamins, all animals need there vitamins including our fish. For our fish to stay healthy and happy they need the right food to provide them with the right kind of vitamins for their bodies.
It is best to feed our fish with a Good Quality Fish Food that will help provide them with a nutritious diet. Cheap might seem best but we don’t know that it will contain everything our fish need. Variety is a good thing as well, feeding our fish the same food for an endless amount of time can lead to a deficiency in their diet. So variety will keep your fish provided with an interesting diet.
Another thing to think about when buying food is it is not always best to buy in bulk, meaning getting to bigger quantity of the same food from one container. If this same food last more than a few months then its quality diminishes over time. This means that the vitamins that were in the food when you bought it may get less and less over time, resulting in your fish not getting what they need from that food.
There is a source of nutrients present in the pond from which the fish will feed, like the plants and algae but they will need you to feed them a good quality food to keep them in tip top condition and keep illnesses and infections at bay. When it comes to Feeding fish the quantity is important a well, be guided by the food pack instructions on the quantity recommended.
It is very easy to over feed fish, especially if they become quite active when you do feed them. Fish coming to the top and feeding can quite easily lead to us putting to much food in to keep this activity up and fish will generally just carry on eating. This can lead to health problems for the fish if we constantly over feed them. We don’t want Fat Fish, so good quality food and the right amount will keep our fish fit and healthy.
